For more than 25 years, Nels Akerlund Photography + Video has provided a diverse global clientele with stunning commercial and editorial photography and video. Through Nels and Anna Akerlund’s work with Fortune 500 clients and top international media outlets, they have brought iconic products, world leaders, music legends, outdoor adventure, and natural landscapes to millions of people.
Nels began his career as an intern for a Washington, D.C. photographer working at the White House during the Reagan Administration. Anna brings a fine art and design background, academic and studio work, and an eye for detail to their storytelling and creative collaboration.
Together, Nels and Anna have partnered with dozens of corporate clients such as Siemens, Rigid, the National Audubon Society, and Mountain Hardwear on global commercial photo and video campaigns. Their documentary, adventure, and portrait photography has appeared in prominent print and online outlets including National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, and The New York Times.
Their photography has also been published in nine books, including book covers for popular nonfiction titles. Together, they have led photography expeditions and workshops around the world, from the grasslands of Botswana to the coral reefs of Indonesia.
